Meet The Optometrists At Ogata EyeCare

An Optometrist (or Optometric Physician) is a Doctor of Optometry (O.D.). Optometrists complete pre-professional undergraduate college education followed by 4 years of professional education at a College of Optometry. Some Optometrists also complete a residency.

An Optometrist is a health care professional who is licensed to provide the following primary eye care services:

  • To examine, diagnose, and treat visual conditions such as Nearsightedness, Farsightedness, Astigmatism, Presbyopia, Lazy Eye (Amblyopia), and Crossed Eyes (Strabismus)
  • To examine and diagnose eye diseases such as Glaucoma, Cataracts, Macular Degeneration, Diabetic Retinopathy, Pink Eye (Conjunctivitis) and treat certain aspects of them
  • To diagnose related bodywide conditions such as High Blood Pressure, Diabetes, and High Cholesterol that may effect the eyes
  • To prescribe Glasses, Contact Lenses, and topical and oral Medications as well as perform minor Surgical Procedures such as removal of foreign bodies

Our Optometric Physicians are certified by the Oregon Board of Optometry. As licensed Optometrists, they are required to complete annual continuing education courses on the latest research and procedures in order to provide you with optimal eyecare.
